Stewardship

Recognizing our current limited understandings of the spirituality of stewardship, individuals, families and the parish community embrace stewardship as a way of life, thus calling all to a greater appreciation of God’s goodness, more thoughtful discernment of our gifts (natural resources, talents, etc.) and a mutual accountability for their responsible use.

Stewardship Commission

Duties:  Facilitate parishioners’ understanding and practice of stewardship in all areas of their lives; one Commission member serves as Recording Secretary

Time:  Monthly meetings; between-meeting assignments as needed; Recording secretary spends approximately 2 additional hours typing and distributing minutes

Special Skills:  A heart for stewardship; enjoy planning and “visioning”; training and resources provided

Coordinator:  Sam Oliver, ministries@stfrancisdesalescc.org

Charity Appeal Committee

Duties:  Plan and organize the annual Charity Appeal at our parish; encourage full participation through planning, publicity, tracking and reporting

Time:  Seasonal (November through May); 1 to 2 meetings per quarter; training for committee chair and for speakers (January and February) provided by Archdiocese

Special Skills:  A heart for the poor of the Archdiocese and an interest in promoting the Appeal; skills in writing, graphic arts, creative thinking and speaking

Coordinator:  Joe Ashburn appeal@stfrancisdesalescc.org

Parish Council

Duties:  Meets periodically to discuss and work on the needs and goals of the parish

Time:  Four times a year or as needed

Special Skills:  No training necessary; open to all members of our parish who have a willingness to work with others and enjoy planning and visioning to build community in our parish

Coordinator:  Mike Nappi president@stfrancisdesalescc.org

Gardens Committee

Duties:  Work to enhance gardens of St. Francis de Sales; adopt an area of the church grounds to beautify and maintain.

Time:  Seasonal (late spring, summer, early fall); several specific seasonal activities

Coordinator:  Rose Ellen Houser parishoffice@stfrancisdesalescc.org
Holy Sweepers Committee

Duties:  Clean the church, sanctuary and other areas

Time:  weekly on a rotating basis

Special Skills:  A caring eye for detail; a desire to help “behind the scenes’, training given by working with existing holy sweepers
